Here at Embrace Ultra we love nothing more than running far, the beautiful Kent countryside and striving to be the best version of ourselves. Now we want to give you the chance to do the same!

Our events are for everyone. Whether its your first ultra or you're pushing for the podium, we will give you exactly the same race experience. Our generous time limits, amazing aid stations and well marked, easy to navigate courses will make this a day (and sometimes night) you'll never forget.

Our Mission

At Embrace Ultra, we're committed to delivering exceptional running experiences across Kent. Our mission is simple: to offer challenging yet enjoyable ultra marathon events that showcase the stunning natural beauty of the county. With a focus on quality, community and adventure, we invite runners of all abilities to embrace the challenge and conquer the distance, one trail at a time.

We are committed to promoting inclusivity, diversity and sustainability in everything we do, striving to make our events accessible to all runners and leave a positive impact on the environment and local community.

Who are Embrace Ultra

Phil Briley

Phil only started running in his late 20's and quickly fell in love with the sport. Being someone with a strong desire to push his limits, Phil quickly moved to Ultra running and has never looked back.

Over the last 5 years Phil has been fortunate to run some incredible races from 100 miles, 24hr track and even a Backyard ultra.

You will often see Phil out running on the local Kent trails, which he still believes are some of the best the UK has to offer.

Not only does Phil love Ultra running, he loves learning more about the sport too which led to him completing a USESCA ultra running coaching certification in January 2022.

Jenny Soto-Briley

Although not a regular runner, Jenny did run the Brighton Marathon in 2021 to raise money for The Oliver Fisher Baby Care Unit, a charity that is very close to her heart.

As a runners wife, Jenny has travelled far and wide with Phil at events, both as his crew and supporter. Jenny has grown to love the community and as a keen events planner she aims to turn her passion for organising into amazing ultra races.

Jenny's main passion is musical theatre, so if Its not finish lines and aid stations you see her at, it could well be on the stage of Kent shows.

Our Promise

At Embrace Ultra we're committed to protecting the great outdoors and ensuring our races are as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. We continuously strive to achieve this through the practices we adopt in our races and the environmental charities we support.

Sustainable Racing

We aim to put on sustainable and environmentally friendly races without compromising our race experience. We will achieve this by;

Leave no trace racing. Our post race clear up and zero tolerance for littering will leave our routes as we found them.
All our races will be cup less and a reusable cup will always be on our mandatory kit.
Our events will not include race t-shirts and we will instead plant a tree with every entry.
We will work with partners to recycle and reuse waste from our events.
We will donate any non re-useable food to local homeless charities / food banks.
